President
Resigns - Leaves VA
In early June, our President took a new position
with a PA program and left the VA and therefore
the position as President of VAPAA. Mr. Bob Kunath,
our illustrious Vice President has, under the
terms of our Bylaws, moved into the position of
President. He will be looking for someone to fill
the VP position for the remainder of his term
as well as someone to take on being our Conference
chairperson. If interested, contact Bob through
our email. |

| Colleagues:
Over
the years there have been many inquiries to VAPAA
about membership and asking about a Lifetime category.
The
VAPAA has various membership levels and recently
the Board of Directors met and approved a new
category of membership. As of now, the Lifetime
membership has been added to the membership levels.
All but this new category require an annual renewal.
If
anyone is now interested, since it is now time
to be renewing your membership, you may elect
to be a LIFETIME member.
| ___ |
The
Lifetime membership dues are $750 or equal
to 10 years dues. |
This
is quite a deal since for a onetime payment of
$750 you may join VAPAA for life. In this day
and age of ever increasing prices…take a
look at your gasoline bill, as one example…you
will never need to pay any more money. Even though
a dues increase is not planned, as expenses grow
a dues increase in the future is a real possibility.
By paying the $750, you will never need to worry
about a dues increase.
If
you would like to be a Lifetime member, send in
your renewal for this year, 2008, along with the
onetime payment of $750 and you will be a Lifetime
member of the only professional organization that
represents you and your chosen VA profession.
If
you pay your dues by electronic dues transfer,
you will need to cancel this method and send to
VAPAA your Lifetime dues along with the membership
renewal.
Thank
you and welcome to all the new Lifetime members.

| About
VAPAA |
|
The
Veterans Affairs Physician Assistant Association
is a non-profit Corporation, organized under the
Texas Non-Profit Corporation Act as a professional
and educational organization dedicated to promoting
the interests of physician assistants employed
by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The VAPAA
is the only organization that exclusively represents
PAs working in the VA. The VAPAA directs efforts
to accomplish its goals by establishing and developing
collaborative relationships with other organizations
with similar goals, working with the administration
within the VHA, and promoting favorable legislative
action by congress.
Why
aren't you a member?
By becoming a member you will be helping your
profession by telling Congress that you
care enough about what you do to be represented
by the only national association devoted entirely
for the PA in the VA. No other organization
can state that or even come close!
